Status of the intermediary

A natural-person broker within the meaning of the amended law of 7 December 2015 on the insurance sector: a self-employed natural person, not tied to one or more insurance undertakings, acting as agent for the policyholder.

Licensed by the Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg under number 2020CP007, verifiable on the public register of natural-person brokers.


Nature of the remuneration

The broker is remunerated exclusively through commissions paid by the insurance companies whose policies are distributed. No fee is charged to the client in addition to this commission.

The amount of commission received on a given policy is disclosed to the client on request, before subscription.


Absence of a qualifying holding

The broker holds no qualifying holding, direct or indirect, in the capital or voting rights of any insurance undertaking. Conversely, no insurance undertaking holds a qualifying holding in the broker’s activity.


Professional indemnity insurance

The broker is covered by professional indemnity insurance in line with the minimum amounts set by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/896, applicable since 9 October 2024, namely €1,564,610 per claim and €2,315,610 in aggregate per year of insurance.


Duty to advise

In accordance with CAA Regulation No. 19/01, the broker collects the client’s demands and needs before any recommendation, provides written justification for every recommendation, and informs the client of their independent status and remuneration arrangements before the policy is concluded.


Complaints and mediation

Any complaint concerning the broker’s services can be sent in writing to info@aurels.lu. If no satisfactory resolution is reached, the client may refer the matter to the Commissariat aux Assurances, the broker’s supervisory authority, or the competent insurance mediation service in Luxembourg.
